Spain Masters 2021 – Day 2

In women's singles, the Belgian player, Liane TAN, seeded 4, won her first match, in only 20 minutes,  against the Spanish Laura ALVAREZ. (21-7 / 21-11) Beatriz CORRALES, winner of the Orléans Masters in 2013 and 2014, won her first match against Tereza SVABIKOVA. (21-9 / 21-19) The Danish player, Line CHRISTOPHERSEN, finalist of the Orléans Masters 2021, won easily against Rachael DARRAGH. ( 21-12 / 21-13)

On the French side, Yaelle HOYAUX, won in three sets against Martina REPIZKA. Marie BATOMENE, on the other hand, lost after more than an hour against the Danish Irina Amalie ANDERSEN.

 

In the men's singles, Pablo ABIAN, seeded 5 and winner of the Orléans Masters Badminton in 2014, won in two sets after a great fight of 43 minutes against Maxime MOREELS. Mads CHRISTOPHERSEN, finalist of the Orléans Masters 2021, wins against the Spanish player Alejandro ALCALA. (21-17 / 21-4)

Unfortunately for the French, Christo POPOV lost against the Danish player Victor SVENDSEN. (21-19 / 21-18) Nevertheless, Lucas CLAERBOUT won in three sets after 1h10 of a match full of twists and turns. Toma Junior Popov is victorious after a difficult match against Luis Enrique PENALVER. (18-21 / 21-15 / 21-11)

 

In mixed doubles, F. DELRUE and L. PALERMO won easily against the Spanish pair Jose MOLARES and Elena LORENZO. (21-18 / 21-5) The finalists of the 2021 edition, Niclas NOHR and Amalie MAGELUND won their match with difficulty in three sets against the Scottish pair Matthew GRIMLEY and Clara TORRANCE.
