The first final of the Orleans Masters 2021 crowned the English Ben Lane & Sean Vendy, promoted favourites after the defection of other seeds.
However, the start of the match was in favour of the inexperienced Indian players Garaga/Panjala. They were playing together for the first time at this Masters !
They quickly took the lead, and did not leave the leadership of this first set, despite a comeback of the English at the end of the set. 21/19 for Garaga/Panjala.
But the English were finally back in the game. A long start, which augured a better continuation for the British. Without being excellent, they were more accurate, more precise at the net and sharper in their attacks. 21/14 then 21/19 in a tense final.
The men's doubles title went back to England, six years after the Nottingham/Towler pair won the title.
