From June 26 to July 2, 2023, the European Games 2023 took place in Tarnow, Poland.

The five tables are represented by almost 160 European players. A competition eagerly awaited by everyone on the continent, which for some is a stepping stone towards the Paris 2024 games!

We're joined by many of the players who have won medals at the Orléans Masters Badminton since 2018. An emotional competition for our French players, who are reporting the most medals (5) !

 

Quarter-finals :

 

Men's singles :

World No.1 Viktor AXELSEN asserts his superiority by qualifying for the semi-finals against Finland's Kalle KOLJONEN in 2 winning sets: 21-10/21-9.

Our Frenchman Toma Junior POPOV, double winner of the 2021 & 2022 Orléans Masters Badminton, will meet the world number 1 in the semi-finals! Qualification against Belgian Julien CARRAGI in 2 sets : 21-16/21-15.

A very tight final set between young Christo and 2019 Orleans Masters Badminton bronze medalist Mark CALJOUW. The Frenchman finished this last set by qualifying for the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1: 21-6/9-21/25-23.

He will meet Israeli Misha ZILBERMAN, present at this 2023 edition of the OMB presented by Victor! ZILBERMAN won 2 sets to 1 against Sweden's Felix BURESTEDT: 17-21/21-14/21-19.

Women’s singles:

We find the Spanish winner of the 2023 OMB presented by Victor, Carolina MARIN, who easily qualified for the semi-finals against Estonian Kristin KUUBA in 2 winning sets: 21-10/21-10.

No semi-finals for Denmark's OMB 2022 bronze medallist, who lost 1 set to 2 to UK representative Kristy GILMOUR: 21-16/11-21/19-21.

Switzerland's Jenjira STADELMANN won 2 sets to 1 against Belgium's Lianne TAN: 21-12/7-21/21-19.

We find the Danish player on the second step of the podium of the OMB 2018, first edition under the Super100 sign! Mia BLICHFELDT qualifies for the semi-finals in 2 winning sets against Turkey's Neslihan YIGIT: 21-18/21-8.

Men’s Doubles:

The Danish pair ASTRUP / RASMUSSEN won 2 sets to 0 against the Irish MAGEE / REYNOLDS: 21-16/21-15.

DUNN and HALL, representing the United Kingdom, advance to the semi-finals against Sweden's HANSSON and Z-BEXELL, winning 2 sets: 21-11/21-12.

The French fraternal pair POPOV qualified for the semi-finals 2 sets to 1 against the German pair LAMSFUSS and SEIDEL, winners in men's doubles of the 2018 edition of the OMB (18-21/21-11/17-10).

Our French team will meet our dear English friends LANE and VENDY, regulars at the Orléans Masters and also winners of the 2021 men's doubles! The English pair won 2 sets to 0 against the Dutch JILLE and VAN DER LECQ: 21-15/21-15.

Women’s Doubles :

We meet up again with our Bulgarian regulars on the OMB podium, as the STEOVA sisters advance to the semi-finals in 2 sets against the Spanish AZURMENDI / CORRALES: 21-14/21-14.

France's Margot LAMBERT and Anne TRAN will meet the STEOVA sisters in the semi-finals following their 2-1 win over UK representatives Julie MACPHERSON and Ciara TORRANCE: 21-13/16-21/21-13.

The Dutch pair JILLE and SEINEN (Cheryl SEINEN, a regular at the OMB following her appearance on the 2018 and 2021 podium alongside Selena PIEK) reached the semi-finals 2 sets to 1 against the Estonians MARRAN / RÜÜTEL: 19-21/21-16/21-17.

The German pair Linda EFLER and Isabel LOHAU reached the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1 against Denmark's FRUERGAARD / THYGESEN: 16-21-21/21-16.

Mixed Doubles :

The French pair GICQUEL / DELRUE, mixed doubles champions of the 2019 Orléans Masters Badminton, earn a place in the semi-finals against Serbia's TOMIC and VITMAN: 21-14/21-14.

Marcus ELLIS and Lauren SMITH win in 2 sets over Poland's SMILOWSKI and SWIERCYNSKA: 21-8/21-16.

The dreadful Danish duo CHRISTIANSEN / BOJE, 2021 OMB winners, qualified for the semi-finals in 2 sets to 0 against the German pair LAMSFUSS and LOHAU: 21-14/21-13.

The Dutch TABELING / PIEK won 2 sets to 0 against the Irish MAGEE / RYAN (21-8/21-6), and will meet the Danish pair CHRISTIANSEN / BOJE for a place in the final!

Men’s singles:

Unfortunately, it was the end of the road for our double winner, Toma Junior POPOV, as the world n°1 won 2 sets to 0: 21-17/21-18.

His younger brother takes over, winning 2 sets to 0 against the Israeli ZILBERMAN: 21-10/21-14.

Christo on the brink of gold! He'll be up against the world's No. 1, Viktor AXELSEN, for the top spot on the podium! The Danish mastodon makes no secret of the fact that he doesn't like playing against this young Frenchman...

Women’s singles:

To no one's surprise, Carolina Marin showed her superiority with a 2-set win over Kristy GILMOUR, 21-13/21-11.

A duel of OMB champions at the 2023 European Games! Mia BLICHFELDT will meet the 2023 OMB winner presented by Victor in the final, following her qualification in 2 sets: 21-15/21-16.

Men’s Doubles :

It was the end of the road for the two UK representatives, as DUNN and HALL lost 1 set to 2 to the Danes, who now qualify for the final! (13-21/21-16/10-21).

Our Frenchmen didn't perform any better in the men's doubles, as the English pair stopped them in 2 winning sets: 21-15/21-14.

The Danes will now face the English pair LANE and VENDY for the men's double GOLD medal!

Women’s Doubles:

It was the end of the road for our French ladies' double pair... The STEOVA sisters won 2 sets to 1: 17-21/21-14/21-12.

The Dutch pair JILLE / SEINEN won 2 sets to 1 against the Germans EFLER and LOHAU: 21-14/19-21/21-17.

The STEOVA sisters will therefore meet the Dutch pair JILLE / SEINEN for the Ladies' Double Gold Medal...

Mixed Doubles:

Thom GICQUEL and Delphine DELRUE in the final! Victory 2 sets to A over UK representatives ELLIS and SMITH: 21-18/14-21/21-18.

A final against the Dutch, the mythical Danish duo didn't make it past the semi-finals. They were ousted by the Dutch pair TABELING / PIEK in 2 winning sets: 21-14/21-13.

Men’s singles:

After a very good start and some fine comebacks, it took Christo 1 hour and 23 minutes to reach 2nd place on the podium, behind the men's singles winner of these European Games, Viktor AXELSEN: 2 sets to 1: 16-21/21-16/21-11.

Women’s singles:

The Spaniard, currently world n°6, once again showed her talent and experience, dominating her final and winning 21-15-21-14 against Denmark's Mia BLICHFELDT.

Men’s Doubles:

Disillusionment for the English pair, winners of the OMB 2021, LANE AND VENDY finished on the second step of the podium behind Denmark's ASTRUP and RASMISSEN, who won the European Games final 2 sets to 1: 21-15/19-21/21-19.

Women’s Doubles:

An expeditious first set and a meaty second, the STEOVA sisters, as usual, dispatched the match in less than 40 minutes. The Dutch thus finish on the second step of the podium 0 set to 2 against the powerful Bulgarians: 7-21/17-21.

Mixed Doubles :

Despite winning a second set, the French pair lost and finished second on the podium behind the Dutch pair TABELING / PIEK, who won 2 sets to 1: 21-10/13-21/21-13.

The KFF Singapore Open 2023 took place in Singapore from 6 to 11 June.

Today we take a look back at this super750 tournament, where we meet up with some of the players who came through Orléans Masters Badminton!

Men's singles :

Denmark's Anders ANTONSEN won 2 sets to 1 against Taiwan's Chia HAo LEE for a place in the semi-finals : 12-21/21-13/21-11.

Japan's Kodai NARAOKA, currently world n°4, won his duel against China's SHI Yu Qi in 2 sets to win : 21-14/21-16.

A duel between two Orléans Masters Badminton regulars! Christo POPOV meets Thailand's Kunlavut VITIDSARN for a place in the semi-finals. Unfortunately for the young Frenchman, the Thai player, currently world number 3, won in 2 sets : 21-13/21-17.

The Chinese Li Shi Feng lost in 1 set to 2 to the Indonesian Anthony Sinisuka Ginting: 13-21/21-16/12-21.

Women's singles :

The current world No. 1, Akane YAMAGUCHI, won 2 sets to 1 against her colleague from the Rising Sun, Aya OHOR I: 21-18/19-21/21-16.

China's CHEN Yu Fei will meet the world number 1 in the semi-finals of this Singapore Open, a place secured by a 2-set win over Thailand's Supanida KATETHON : 21-18/21-15.

Taiwan's TAI Tzu Ying won in 2 sets against China's HE Bing Jiao : 21-16/21-11.

AN Se Young, the recent winner of the Thailand Open 2023 held last week, continued her quest for the title by reaching the semi-finals. The Korean won 2 sets to 0 against the Chinese WANG Zhi Y i: 21-18/21-18.

Men's Doubles :

We meet up again with our English friends, the LANE/VENDY pair who won the men's doubles at the Orléans Masters Badminton 2021 ! Unfortunately for them, their Chinese opponents LIANG Wei Keng and WANG Chang won in 2 sets to 0 : 21-11/21-11.

The same fate befell the Indonesians Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin, who finished third on the podium of this 2023 edition of the Orléans Masters Badminton presented by Victor. The Malaysian pair Aaron CHI and SOH Wooi Yik won their ticket for the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1 : 18-21/21-16/22-20.

Two Japanese pairs for a single place in the semi-finals : Takuro HOKI and Yugo KOBAYASHI win their place in the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1 against their colleagues Akira KOGA/Taichi SAITO : 12-21/21-15/22-20.

A very close duel between the Korean pair Choi Sol Gyu/Kim Won ho and the Malaysians Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi. The Koreans eventually won by 2 sets to 1 : 20-22/26-24/24-22.

Women's Doubles :

The Koreans KIM So Yeong and KONG Hee Yong lost 0 set to 2 to the Chinese CHEN Qing Chen and JIA Yi Fan : 12-21/14-21.

A duel between Chinese players for the first semi-final match !

The Chinese pair LI Wen Mei and LIU Xuan Xuan joined their counterparts in the semi-finals following a 2-set win over the Japanese MATSUMOTO/NAGAHARA : 22-20/21-19.

The women's doubles draw was dominated by China, with ZHANG Shu Xian and ZHENG Yu reaching the semi-finals after beating Japan's Rin IWANAGA and Kie NAKANISHI 2-1 : 21-19/19-21/21-16.

Unfortunately, the players from the land of the rising sun didn't make it past the quarter-finals, as the Japanese pair Nami MATSUYAMA and Chiharu SHIDA lost 1 set to 2 to the Koreans BAEK Ha NA and LEE So Hee : 17-21/22-20/21-23.

Mixed Doubles :

The Korean pair KIM Won Ho and JEONG Na Eun won 2 sets to 0 against the Chinese ZHENG Si Wei and HUANG Ya Qiong : 21-19/21-19.

The legendary Danish mixed pair, winners of the Orléans Masters Badminton 2021, qualified for the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1 against Thailand's Supak JOMKOH and Supissara PAEWSAMRAN : 21-13/19-21-19.

The Malaysian pair Chen Tang Jie / Toh Ee Wei secured their place in the semi-finals by beating Hong Kong's Lee Chun Hei Reginald and Ng Tsz Yau 2-1 : 21-14/16-21/21-18.

The Japanese winners of the Yonex Sunrise open 2023 won 2 sets to 1  the Chinese FENG Yan Zhe and HUANG Dong Ping : 23-21/12-21/21-17.

 

Semi-finals :

Men's singles :

Denmark's Anders Antonsen reached the final of the Singapore Open after winning 2 sets to 1 against Japan's Kodai Naraoka, currently world number 3 : 19-21/21-16/21-17.

After a spectacular comeback in the second set, the 2021 Orléans Masters Badminton regular and bronze medallist withdrew.... So it was the end of the road for Thailand's Kunlavut VITIDSARN, who gave up his place in the final to Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia : 19-21/21-11/6-1.

Ladies' singles :

A duel between the best in the world!

The current world n°1 qualified for the final in 2 sets to 1 against the Chinese Chen Yu Fei : 21-10/18-21/21-16.

An Se Young, current world n°2, won in 2 sets against Taiwanese Tai Tzu Ying : 21-16/21-14.

Men's Doubles :

The Chinese pair dominated their way into the men's doubles final : Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang won 2 sets to 1 against Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik (18-21/21-16/22-20).

The Japanese pair Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi showed their superiority in winning 2 sets against the Koreans Choi Sol Gyu and Kim Won Ho : 31-21/21-14.

Women's Doubles :

China's Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan beat their colleagues Li Wen Mei and Liu Xuan Xuan in 2 sets to 0 : 21-18/21-12.

The Women's Doubles final will pit the Chinese pair Chen Qing Chen /Jia Yi Fan against the Koreans Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee, after they won the final 2 sets to 1 against the Chinese Zhang Shu Xian / Zheng Yu : 16-21/21-18/21-10.

Mixed Doubles :

Heading for the final, the legendary Danish pair, winners of the 2021 edition of the Orléans Masters Badminton, showed their superiority in winning 2 sets against the Koreans Kim Won Ho and Jeong Eun : 21-19/21-9.

The Japanese pair Yuta WATANABE /Arisa HIGASHINO reached the final after winning 2 sets against the Malaysians Chen tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei : 21-17/24-22.

The Danish pair CHRISTIANSEN / BOJE will meet none other than the world No. 3 mixed doubles team in the final !

Men's Singles :

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (Indonesia) won in 2 sets against Anders Antonsen (Denmark). The Indonesian won the title 21-16/21-13.

Women's singles :

The Korean world number 2 took first place in 2 winning sets against the Japanese Akane Yamaguchi.

An Se Young won the gold medal 21-16/21-14.

Men's Doubles :

The Japanese pair Takuro / Hoki won the men's doubles draw in 2 sets against the Chinese Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang.

Women's Doubles :

The Chinese pair Chen Qing Chen won their duel and the women's doubles final of this Singapore Open in 2 sets to 0 against the Koreans Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee : 21-16/21-12.

The Super500 TOYOTA GAZOO RACING Thaïland Open 2023 was held from 30 May to 04 June in Bangkok, Thailand.

Men's singles :

Hong Kong's LEE Cheuk Yiu reached the semi-finals against Malaysia's NG Tze Yong in 2 sets to 0 : 21-19/23-21.

Toma Junior POPOV, two-time winner of the Orléans Masters Badminton 2021 and 2022, reached the semi-finals in 2 sets to 0 against India's Kiran GEORGE. Our double champion will meet Lee Cheuk Yiu (world no. 8) for a place in the final !

India's Lakshya SEN defeats Malaysia's LEONG Jun Hao 2 sets to win: 21-19/21-11.

Kunlavut VITIDSARN, who came 3rd in the men's singles at the 2021 Orléans Masters Badminton, won his place in the semi-finals 2 sets to 1 against the Chinese LU Gang Zu: 18-21/21-14/21-11.

 

 

Women's singles :

Korea's AN Se Young, world no. 2, won 21-16/21-18 against China's HAN Yue.

The women's singles winner of the Orléans Masters Badminton 2023, Carolina MARIN, reached the semi-finals against the Canadian Michelle LI in 2 winning sets : 21-19/21-12.

It was the end of the road for the courageous Pornpawee CHOCHUWONG, bronze medallist in the Ladies' Singles event at the 2021 Orléans Masters Badminton ! Her Chinese opponent HE bing Jiao secured her place in the semi-finals in 2 sets 0 : 21-10/21-19.

Denmark's Mia BLICHFELDT (who came second in the Ladies Singles at the first OMB super100) won 2 sets 0 against YEO Jia Min from Singapore : 21-11/21-9.

Men's Doubles :

The men's doubles runners-up at the Orléans Masters Badminton 2023 presented by Victor are heading for the semi-finals. The Indonesian pair Muhammad Shohibul FIKRI and Bagas MAULANA won 2 sets to 1 against the Taiwanese LU Ching Yao and YANG Po Han.

In the semi-finals, the OMB2023 runners-up will meet Korea's CHOI Sol Gyu and KIM Won Ho, who won their duel 2 sets to 0 against China's REN Xiang Yu and TAN Qiang : 21-16/21-14.

It was the end of the road for the Indonesians Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahabi, who finished 3rd at the OMB2021 in men's doubles, losing 2 sets to 1 to the Chinese pair LIANG Wei Keng and Wang Chang : 16-21/21-12.

The Koreans KANG Min Hyuk and SEO Seung Jae, winners of the previous tournament, the Malaysian Masters, were ousted by the Indonesian pair Marcus Fernaldi GIDEON and Kevin Sanjaya SUKAMULJO in 2 sets to 1 : 17-21/22-20/21-18.

 

Ladies' doubles :

A Korean duel to kick off the women's doubles draw! The pair KIM So Yeong and KONG Hee Yong won the duel against their colleagues in 2 sets to 1 : 15-21/21-11/21-7.

The two women's doubles champions of the Orléans Masters Badminton 2021 are well on their way to the title! Jongklophan KITITHARAKUL and Rawinda PRAJONGJAI won their duel in 2 sets against the Korean pair JEONG Na Eun and KIM Hye Jeong : 21-17/21-14.

The Chinese pair LIU Sheng Shu and TAN Ning lost 0 set to 2 to the Korean pair BAEK Ha Na and LEE So Hee : 20-22/14-21.

The Thai pair Benyapa AIMSAARD and Nuntakarn AIMSAARD reached the semi-finals by winning their match in 2 sets against the Japanese IWANAGA/NAKANISHI : 21-17/21-7.

 

 

Mixed Doubles :

The Thai pair PUAVARANUKROH/TAERATTANACHAI won their semi-final match against the Dutch Robien Tabeling and Selena Piek in 2 sets to 0 : 21-16/21-12.

The legendary Danish duo CHRISTIANSEN/BOJE, who finished top of the mixed doubles podium at the OMB2021, qualified for the semi-finals in 2 sets to 0 against the Japanese Yuki Kaneko and Misaki Mastumoto : 21-16/21-11.

The Korean pair Kum Won Ho and Jeong Na Eun won their duel against Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man and Tse Ting Suet in 2 sets to 1 : 15-21/21-13/21-15.

A Korea/Taiwan duel in the semi-finals! Taiwan's Ye Hong Wei and Lee Chia Hsin reach the semi-finals after beating the Japanese pair of Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Saito 2 sets to 0 : 21-18/21-9.

Men's singles :

Unfortunately, after this fine performance, our French double gold medallist (OMB2021/2022) lost 0 sets to 2 to LEE CHeuk Yiu from Hong Kong: 14-21/16-21.

In the final, we meet our 3rd place 2021 finisher, Kunlavut VITIDSARN, who won his place in the final 2 sets to 1 against India's Lakshya SEN: 13-21/21-17/21-13.

 

Women's singles :

Korea's AN Se Young earned a place in the final against the 2023 champion of the Orléans Masters Badminton presented by Victor. Carolina MARIN came out on top in 0 sets to 2 : 16-21/12-21.

It was the same scenario for the runner-up in the OMB2021, Denmark's Mia BLICHFELDT, who was edged out by China's HE Bing Jao in 2 sets 0 : 21-13/21-18.

 

 

Men's Doubles :

The Indonesians Muhammad Shohibul FIKRI and Bagas MAULANA beat the Koreans in 2 sets to 1 : 22-20/13-21/21-16. The runners-up in the 2023 OMB Men's Doubles presented by victor are in the final of this year's Thailand Open !

The Indonesian pair will meet the Chinese pair LIANG Wei Keng and WANG Chang, who win their duel in 2 sets to 0 against the Indonesians Marcus Fernaldi GIDEON and Kevin Sanjaya SUKAMULJO : 21-13/21-19.

 

 

Ladies Doubles :

Unfortunately it was the end of the road for the OMB2021 women's doubles champions, who lost 0 sets to 2 to Korea's KIM So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong : 12-21/12-21.

Another chance for Thailand to win the title on home soil! The pair Benyapa AIMSAARD and Nuntakarn AIMSAARD won their ticket to the final with a 21-17/21-7 victory over the Koreans BAEK Ha Na and LEE So Hee.

 

 

Mixed Doubles :

It was the end of the road for the Danish pair CHRISTIANSEN/BOJE, who lost 10-21/11-21 to Thailand's PUAVARANUKROH/TAERATTANACHAI, who have now reached the final !

But who will meet the Thai pair: the Koreans or the Taiwanese ?

It will be the Korean pair Kim Won Ho and Jeong Na Eun who will take on the Thai pair PUAVARANUKROH/TAERATTANACHAI by ousting the Taiwanese Ye Hong Wei and Lee Chia Hsin from the final in 2 sets to 1 : 15-21/21-15/21-15.

Men's singles :

A formality for the bronze medallist from the Orléans Masters Badminton 2021, Kunlavut VITIDSARN took first place in the Men's Singles in 2 sets over Lee Cheuk Yiu from Hong Kong : 21-12/21-10.

 

 

Women's singles :

Korea's AN Se Young, currently world no. 2, takes first place in this Thailand Open in 2 winning sets against China's HE Bing Jiao : 21-10/21-19.

 

 

 

Men's Doubles :

It was another second place for the two runners-up at the OMB presented by Victor 2023. The Chinese pair LIANG Wei Keng and WANG Chang dominated and won the title in 2 sets to 0 : 21-10/21-15.

 

 

Women's Doubles :

The Korean pair of KIM So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong dominated and took first place on the podium in 2 sets winning 21-13/21-17 against the Thai pair of Benyapa AIMSAARD and Nuntakarn AIMSAARD.

 

 

 

Mixed Doubles :

The Koreans took the title, the pair Kim Won Ho and Jeong Na Eun winning this 2023 edition of the Thailand Open Super500 in 2 sets to 1 against the Thai PUAVARANUKROH/TAERATTANACHAI : 11-21/21-19/22-20.

The Super500 PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2023 presented by DAIHATSU was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 23 to 28 May 2023.

Men's singles :

The Indonesian Christian ADINATA, who held off Magnus JOHANNESEN who reached the second step of the podium a few weeks ago at the Orléans Masters Badminton presented by Victor Super300 (2 sets to 0 21-16/21-14), reached the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1 against the Indian KIDAMBI Srikanth (16-21/21-16/21-11).

Japan's Kenta NISHIMOTO lost 1 set to 2 to India's PRANNOY H. S. : 25-23/18-21/21-13. The country of Ghandi has another chance to reach the top of the podium with PRANNOY H. S. who will meet the Indonesian Christian ADINATA for a place in the final.

Taiwan's LIN CHU-Yi secured his place in the semi-finals after 2 hours of intense play, winning 2 sets to 1 against Japan's Kodai NARAOKA (17-21/30-29/21-19).

Hong Kong's NG Ka Long Angus failed to secure his place in the semi-finals. His Chinese opponent WENG Hong Yang won 2 sets to 1 : 23-21/14-21/21-14.

 

Ladies singles :

Current world No. 1 Akane Yamaguchi (who took out Orléans Masters Badminton 2022 silver medallist Mia BLOCHFELDT) won her duel with Canadian Michelle LI in 2 sets to win : 21-11/21-14.

The Orléans Masters Badminton 2021 women's singles titleholder from Thailand, Busanan ONGBAMRUNGPHAN, lost 0-2 sets (20-22/9-21) to China's HAN Yue. HAN Yue will now meet the world No. 1 for a place in the final !

India's PUSARLA V. Shindu wins 2 sets to 1 against China's ZHANG Yi Man : 21-16/13-21/22-20

The Indonesian Gregoria Mariska TUNJUNG, currently world n°9, meets the Chinese WANG Zhi Yi, world n°2, in the quarter-finals. Indonesian victory 2 sets to 0 21-11/21-14. In the semi-finals, Gregoria Mariska TUNJUNG will meet India's current world n°6 PUSARLA V. Sindhu from India.

 

Men's doubles :

The Korean pair KANG Min Hyuk / SEO Seung Jae reach the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1 (15-21/21-16/21-14) against the Malaysians ONG Yew Sin and TEO Ee Yi.

The Japanese Tajuro HOKI and Yugo KOBAYASHI met the Taiwanese pair CHANG Ko-Chi / PO Li-Wei and qualified to meet the Koreans in the semi-finals in 2 sets to win : 21-18/21-16.

The Indonesian pair AHSAN & SETIAWAN lost 0 set to 2 (21-23/17-21) to the Malaysians MAN Wei Chong and Kau Wun TEE, who are one step closer to the title on home soil !

The Indonesians Leo Rolly CARNANDO and Daniel MATHIN won their semi-final by 2 sets to 0 against the Malaysian pair Aaron CHIA and SOH Wooi Yik : 21-18/21-19. They won't be far behind as they will once again meet a Malaysian pair for a place in the final !

 

Women's doubles :

Japan's Nami MATSUYAMA and Chiharu SHIDA meet Korea's BAEK Ha Na and LEE So Hee for a place in the semi-finals. The Koreans dominated the match, winning 2 sets to 0 : 21-16/21-17.

It was the end of the road for the Taiwanese pair HSU YA Ching and LIN Wan Ching, who lost 1 set to 2 to the Japanese Mayu MATSUMOTO and Wakana NAGAHARA : 21-16/12-21/16-21.

Another duel against the rising sun for the Koreans BAEK Ha Na and LEE So Hee, who will meet the MATSUMOTO/NAGAHARA pair in the semi-finals for a place in the final !

The Malaysian pair of Pearly TAN and THINAAH Muralitharan (who knocked the STOEVA sisters, regulars at the Orléans Masters Badminton, off the circuit) won their duel against the Japanese pair of Yuki FUKUSHIMA and Sayaka HIROTA in 2 sets to 1 : 13-21/21-19/21-16.

Korea's JEONG Na Eun and KIM Hye Jong continued their climb to the top by beating Indonesia's Apriyani RAHAYU and Siti Fadia Silva RAMADHANTI 2 sets to 1 : 21-15/18-21/21-16.

 

The country of the cool morning showed its superiority with two women's doubles pairs on the podium of this Malaysian Masters. Will we see a Korean Women's Doubles final ?

 

Mixed doubles :

The adventure comes to an end in the quarter-finals for England's Marcus ELLIS and Lauren SMITH (LS: Winner in Ladies' Doubles alongside Chloe BIRCH at the first super100 edition of the Orléans Masters Badminton in 2018) with a 2 sets to 1 victory over the Thai pair Supak JOMKOH / Supissara PAEWSAMPRAN : 10-21/21-19/21-1.

The Chinese pair FENG Yan Zhe / HUANG Dong Ping met and showed their superiority against the Japanese Kyohei YAMASHITA and Naru SHINOYA in 2 sets to 1 : 22-20/11-21/21-17.

The Chinese pair will now meet the Thai pair JOMKOH / PAEWSAMPRAN for a place in the final !

Korea's SEO Seung Jae and CHAE Yu Jung advance to the semi-finals in 2 sets to 0 against Indonesia's RIVALDY/MENTARI : 21-15/22-20.

The Chinese pair JIANG Zhen Bang / WEI Ya Xin lost 0 set to 2 (21-8/21-17) to Thailand's PUAVARANUROH and TAERATTANACHAI, silver medallists at the BWF World Tour Finals 2022. The Thais will play for their place in the final against Korea's SEO Seung JAe and CHAE Yu Jung.

Men's singles :

Indonesia's Christian Adinata was forced to retire, leaving India's Prannoy H. S. to continue his run towards the title !

China's Weng Hong Yang dominated his duel against Taiwan's Lin Chun-Yi and won his place in the final against India's Prannoy H. S. in 2 sets : 21-13/21-19.

 

Ladies singles :

Japan's Akane Yamaguchi (world no. 1) dominated the match and progressed to the final in 2 sets against China's Han Yue (current world no. 10) : 21-10/21-17.

This will be a Japan v Indonesia final, with Indonesia's Gregoria Mariska Tunjung continuing her run of 2-set wins with another victory over India's Pusaria V. Sinhdu : 21-14/21-17.

 

Men's doubles :

Despite a turnaround with a second set win, the Japanese pair Takuro Hoki & Yugo Kobayashi lost 1 set to 2 to the Koreans Hang Min Hyuk & Seo Seung Jae : 18-21/21-12/16-21).

The Malaysian men's doubles pair reach the final ! Man Wei Chong & Kai Wun Tee won their duel against the Indonesian pair Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin in 2 winning sets : 21-17/22-20.

 

Women's doubles :

Identical scenario in the women's doubles !

The Korean pair Baek Ha Na & Lee So Hee won their duel 2 sets to 0 against the Japanese pair : 21-19/21-14.

The Malaysians Pearly Tan & Thinaah Muralitharan qualified ( 21-19/23-21) for the final and will meet the Koreans for first place on the podium !

 

Mixed doubles :

The Thai pair Supak JOMKOH / Supissara PAEWSAMPRAN lost in the semi-finals to the Chinese FENG Yan Zhe / HUANG Dong Ping : 12-21/8-21.

Thailand's PUAVARANUROH and TAERATTANACHAI, World Tour Finals 2022 finalists, will meet the Chinese pair FENG Yan Zhe / HUANG Dong Ping in the mixed doubles final! Their place in the final was won against Korea's SEO Seung JAe and CHAE Yu Jung 2 sets to 1 : 21-19/13-21/21-17.

Men's singles :

Indian victory, Prannoy H. S. takes the men's singles title against China's Weng Hong Yang : 21-19/13-21/21-18.

 

Women's singles :

World No.1 Akane Yamaguchi showed her superiority by winning the title in 2 sets against Gregoria Mariska Tunjung : 21-17/21-7.

 

Men's doubles :

Unfortunately, the Malaysians will remain on the 2nd place of the men's doubles podium... The Koreans Hang Min Hyuk & Seo Seung Jae win and take the title in 2 sets to 1 : 21-15/22-24/21-19.

 

Women's doubles :

Same disillusionment for the Malaysian women's doubles pair, the Korean pair Baek Ha Na & Lee So Hee wins the duel 2 sets to 1 : 22-20/8-21/21-17.

 

Mixed doubles :

The Thai pair PUAVARANUROH and TAERATTANACHAI landed on the top step of the podium after beating the Chinese pair FENG Yan Zhe & HUANG Dong Ping 2 sets to 1 : 16-21/21-13/21-18.
