Back at the evening presentation of random draw for the Orleans masters 2019
On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, was held the evening presentation of the Orleans Masters random draw. For the occasion, the Deputy Mayor of Orleans, Soufiane SANKHON welcomed Franck LAURENT, the President of the Masters, the tournament organization team and some loyal fans of the event in the famous Groslot Hotel. More than forty people were present to attend the last stage before the launch of the 2019 edition.
A very instructive evening since Philippe LIMOUZIN, National Technical Director of the FFBAD and Cédric GROSJEAN, Head of Development of the Centre Loire Valley Badminton League were also present to give us their first impressions on the final draw and make some predictions about the chances of the French.
Woman's single :
The 4 main seeds Kirsty GILMOUR, Saena KAWAKAMI, Ayumi MINE and Chloe BIRCH belong to the Top 50 in the world. A high level table where it will also not be necessary to miss the beginnings of the Frenchwoman, seeded 8, Qi XUE FEI, under the tricolor flag.
Men's single :
Same observation, the 4 main seeds Mark CALJOUW, Yu IGARASHI, the Frenchman Lucas CORVEE and Victor SVENDSEN also belong to the Top 50 world. A table which could however be the subject of many surprises since many young people having made results at the Junior World Championships will be present. This is notably the case of the Thai Kunlavut VITIDSARN, Junior World Champion in 2018.
Woman's double :
The Women's Doubles will truly be THE table with the best chances of French medals since the pairs Anne TRAN / Emilie LEFEL and Léa PALERMO / Delphine DELRUE take the top 2 and 3 seeds respectively in this discipline. It will however be necessary to be wary of the Japanese, seed 1 Chiharu SHIDA / Nami MATSUYAMA (number 13 in the world) and the Indonesian, seed 4, Yulfira BARKAH / Jauza Fadhila SUGIARTO (number 28 in the world).
Men's double :
The Men's Doubles competition will undoubtedly be the most prestigious of this 2019 edition, as it will feature the English Olympic medallists, seeded 1, Chris LANGRIDGE / Marcus ELLIS. The Germans, seeded 2, Mark LAMSFUSS / Marvin SEIDEL (number 29 in the world) will also have their say. Without forgetting the seeds 3 and 4 of the tournament Ben LANE / Sean VENDY (ANG) and WANG Chi-Lin / LEE Yang (Chinese Taipei).
Mixed doubles :
To finish, the English, number 10 in the world Lauren SMITH and Marcus ELLIS take without surprise the seeded 1 of the draw. However, they will have their work cut out for them as the tournament's top 2, 3 and 4 seeds Isabel HERTTRICH / Mark LAMSFUSS (GER), Linda EFLER / Marvin SEIDEL (GER) and Evgenia DIMOVA / Evgenij DREMIN (RUS) are also in the world's top 30.
