The Mediterranean Games were held in Tarragona, Spain this year. France won 2 gold medals, one silver and one bronze:

Thom Gicquel and Bastian Kersaudy brought the first gold medal of the French badminton of these Games. They won the final 21/9 21/19 against the pair Koca / Salim.

A few minutes later, in the women's doubles, the French Delrue / Palermo, finalists in Orleans for the last 3 years, also won the gold medal. They won the final 21/17 21/16 against Ercetin / Inci (Turkey).

Luca Corvée brings home a silver medal in men's singles. He is only beaten in the final by the Spanish Pablo Abian (winner in Orléans in 2014) after a tough fight 21/23 21/15 21/17.

Toma Popov Junior won a bronze medal, after his defeat in the semi-final. He bounced back to defeat Muhammed Ali Kurt in the bronze medal match. (21/17 21/16).

In the women's singles, the French Yaelle Hoyaux failed to reach the podium. On the first step of the podium, we find Neslihan Yigit (quarter finalist in Orléans in 2018) who dominated Beatriz Corrales (winner in Orléans in 2014) in two sets. (21/19 23/21).

Frenchman Thomas Rouxel made it to the semi-finals. His run was stopped by the future winner, the Chinese LU Guangzu. The latter had beaten Toby Penty and Mark Caljouw, double winner in Orleans in 2017 and 2018.

In the men's doubles draw, our 2018 winners, Mark Lamsfuss and Emil Seidel lost in the final to the pair Ellis / Langridge after a tough battle 19/21 21/18 22/20.

The Japanese Sakuramoto and Takahata won the women's doubles. They won in the semi-final against the French pair Lefel / Tran (semi-finalists in Orleans in 2018).Aand in the final against the German pair Herttrich (winner in mixed doubles in Orleans in 2017) / Nelte.

After their respective failures in the men's and women's doubles finals, Lamsfuss / Herttrich (DM winners in 2017) also lost the mixed doubles final in Canada against England's Ellis / Smith on the score of 21/13 21/4.
