Orleans Masters 2021: the semi-finals review

This Saturday morning, the women's doubles opened the semi-finals. And the Thai pair, Kititharakul/Prajongjai had no difficulty in reaching the final. The other favourites, the Stoeva sisters (BUL) had a complicated start against Piek/Seinen. The Bulgarian sisters had to adjust and get going, as they went on to win in the second and third sets.(21-14, 21-9)
The long-awaited final between the Thais, number 8 in the world at the time of the draw, and the Bulgarians, double winners here, will therefore take place.

In the boys' competition, the English favourites Lane/Vendy will also be present on Sunday. Following a controlled 3-set victory over the Indonesian pair Gutama/Isfahani. They will meet in the final the surprising Indian pair Garaga/Panjala. The Indians, who after beating the Popov brothers, made short work of the English pair Hemming/Stallwood.
For their first tournament together, the Indians are clearly the sensation of the week.

In the mixed doubles, the final will oppose regulars of the last day at the Palais des Sports, with the Danish pairs Boje/Christiansen and Magelund/Nohr. The two men, doubles partners, have already won three times in the last five editions.

In the women's singles, Line Christophersen will also be a Danish player. She created the sensation of the day against Indian star Saina Nehwal. She beat her in two short sets. (21-17, 21-17) In an unexpected final, she will face Busanan Ongbamrungphan from Thailand, who beat Pornpawee Chochuwong, the All England finalist, in three high-level sets.

Finally, in the men's singles, Line Christophersen's older brother Mads will try to win the title against the last French survivor, Toma Junior Popov. Just like the girls, both men created the surprise in their respective semi-finals against the stars Vittinghus and Vitisarn.
