Results French Championship 2018

The Senior French Championships took place in Voiron (Isère) between 1st and 4th February 2018.
During the 4 days of competition, several players who went through the Orleans tournament (International Challenge) shone.
At only 17 years old, Léonice HUET (see photo), licensed at the CLTO, became French champion by winning the women's draw against Katia NORMAND (21/16 19/21 21/10). The two players had already met at the International Challenge in 2016, Léonice had won 21/15 21/15.
Léonice HUET scored a double by winning the women's double with her compatriot Vimala HERIAU. They beat LAMBERT / FAULMANN 21/15 21/15.
In the men's draw, Lucas CLAERBOUT succeeds Lucas CORVEE. He beat Toma Junior POPOV 21/16 23/21 in the final. Both were present in Orléans in 2017 with respectively a quarter final and 1/16th final elimination.
Julien MAIO and Bastian KERSAUDY (present in Orléans in 2017) retained their title in the men's doubles. In the final, they defeated Thom GICQUEL and Léo ROSSI by a score of 18/21 21/8 21/8.
On the other hand, Thom GICQUEL won in mixed doubles with Delphine DELRUE 23/21 21/19 against Emilie LEFEL and Gaetan MITTELHAUSSER. DELRUE/GICQUEL were present in Orléans in 2017 where they reached the semi-finals of the mixed doubles.
