Yonex IFB 2018, Round of 16 : Europeans in the spotlight !

On Thursday 25 October, the Round of 16 of the Yonex IFB 2018 took place. As we mentioned in the previous article, many players who are used to the Orleans Masters, also distinguished themselves in the capitale.

In Women's Singles, Mia BLICHFELDT, the winner of the 2018 edition, will not have managed to secure her ticket to the quarter-finals in Paris. She will lose in 3 sets to Indonesian Gregoria Mariska TUNJUNG. (21-13 / 14-21 / 11-21).

 

In Women's Doubles, the STOEVA sisters (Winners of the 2018 edition) continue their expeditious journey. She easily win in 2 sets against the Indonesian pair ISTARANI and PRADIPTA. (21-17 / 21-17).

 

In Mixed Doubles, the winner of the 2013 edition, Marcus ELLIS (cf.photo), associated with his compatriot Lauren SMITH, marks one of the big performances of the day. They eliminated the Malaysian pair, seeded number 8, Soon Huat GOH and Shevon Jemie LAI. (21-19 / 22-24 / 21-19). The winner of the Men's Doubles of the last edition of the Masters, M. E. SEIDEL, associated with his compatriot L. EFLER, will also have battled for a long time. In the end, they did not have such a favourable outcome as he lost against the Japanese pair T. HOKI and W. NAGAHARA. (21-11 / 20-22 / 24-26). Finally, Robin TABELING and her compatriot Cheryl SEINEN will not be able to find a solution against the Japanese pair WATANABE and  HIGASHINO and will lose in 2 sets. (14-21 / 6-21).

 

It should be noted that the first places for the Orleans Masters 2019 were sold out today thanks to the help of our volunteers at the Yonex IFB. For those of you visiting Paris, they will be available until the end of the week !
