DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2023

For this third tournament of the year, badminton players from all around the world met us again in Jakarta in Indonesia to contest different matchs and the DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2023's final.

They were a lot to be in competition, overall nationalities, including French players like brothers Christo and Toma Junior POPOV, the men's double Lucas CORVEE/Ronan LABAR and women's double Margot LAMBERT/Anne TRAN or even the mixed double Thom GICQUEL/Delphine DELRUE.

To come back on their performances :

Christo POPOV in Men's single and the Women's double LAMBERT/TRAN didn't get through the qualifiers.

The Men's double CORVEE/LABAR, who participated to our 2022 edition, stopped at the quarter-final doors, losing 2 sets against Japanese HOKI/KOBAYASHI.

Same conclusion for the French Men's single players Toma Junior POPOV who hand over to Chinese LU Guang Zu by 2 sets to 1 (17-21/21-17/12-21).

We also met other players from our different editions like Mark CALJOUW (2022 edition), Indian duo GARAGA/PANJALA (2021 edition), the Thai player Busanan ONGBAMRUNGPHAN (2021 edition) or the Indonesian Putri Kusuma WARDANI, winner or our 2022 edition, in Women's single.

On the winner's podium for this tournament, none of our players is unfortunately on it :

◾ Men's Single : Jonatan CHRISTIE, Indonesian player, wins this final and this championship in his category facing his national opponent Chico Aura DWI WARDOYO by 2 sets (21-15/21-13).

◾ Women's Single : Korean AN Se Young finishes at the first place once more for this third tournament. She was against the Spanish Carolina MARIN who follows her by 2 sets to 1 (21-18/18-21/13-21).

◾ Finally, in Mixed Double : Chinese duo HUANG/FENG wins also this category by 2 sets to 1 (21-15/16-21/21-19) facing their national opponent JIANG/WEI.

We'll as well note the French mixed double's performance GICQUEL/DELRUE who sadly stopped at semi-finals doors by 2 sets (13-21/19-21). They were against Chinese duo FENG/HUANG. However, they'll have the opportunity to do better during the French badminton championship 2023 which currently occured at Glaz ARENA in Cesson-Sévigné in France.
