June featured a packed schedule on the international badminton circuit. While French players competed exclusively at the Indonesia Open (Super 1000), several winners of the 32nd edition of the Orléans Masters Badminton also took part in other tournaments around the world, continuing their strong momentum. Here’s a look back at all of their performances.
Alex LANIER’s Momentum Halted in Jakarta
Just a few days after winning the Singapore Open (Super 750), Alex LANIER (No. 9, FRANCE) returned to the court for the Indonesia Open, one of the most prestigious events on the calendar.
The Frenchman got off to a perfect start, defeating world No. 3 Anders ANTONSEN of Denmark in the first round in two controlled sets: 21–8, 21–17. He then continued his run with a convincing victory over Malaysia’s LEONG Jun Hao (No. 26) with a score of 21–16, 21–15.
In the quarterfinals, Alex faced Thailand’s Panitchaphon TEERARATSAKUL (No. 22). After a hard-fought three-set match, the Frenchman ultimately lost 18–21, 21–7, 17–21, ending his run just short of the semifinals.

Nozomi OKUHARA’s Run Ends in the Round of 16
In women’s singles, Nozomi OKUHARA (No. 12, Japan) also competed in the Indonesia Open. The Orléans Masters champion got off to a perfect start in the tournament, defeating India’s Unnati HOODA in two sets, 21–15, 21–14, thereby securing her spot in the round of 16.
In the next round, she faced her compatriot Tomoka MIYAZAKI (No. 9). After winning a particularly hard-fought first set 26–24, Nozomi ultimately fell to an opponent who gradually fought her way back into the match, losing in three sets 26–24, 16–21, 19–21.
The Japanese player bounced back the very next week at the Australian Open. In top form, she racked up three consecutive victories without dropping a single set to reach the semifinals. Her impressive run ultimately came to an end against Thailand’s Pornpawee CHOCHUWONG (No. 8), with a score of 21–18, 11–21, 21–12.

Thom and Delphine Are One Step Away from the Finals
In mixed doubles, Thom GICQUEL and Delphine DELRUE (No. 5, France) have had an excellent run at the Indonesia Open. The former champions got off to a perfect start, defeating Germany’s Marvin SEIDEL and Thuc Phuong NGUYEN (No. 26) 18–21, 21–17, 21–16. They then went on to dominate the Indian pair Rohan KAPOOR and GADDE Ruthvika Shivani (No. 38) 21–13, 21–12.
In the quarterfinals, the French pair delivered a top-notch performance against the Malaysian duo GOH Soon Huat and LAI Shevon Jemie (No. 11). Trailing in the decisive set, Thom and Delphine showed remarkable composure by saving three match points before winning 15–21, 21–18, 22–20.
Their run ultimately came to an end in the semifinals against the Danish pair Mathias CHRISTIANSEN and Alexandra BØJE (No. 6), finalists of the 2026 Orléans Masters Badminton tournament. Despite winning the first set, the French pair lost in three sets, 21–18, 13–21, 15–21, to the eventual tournament champions.

HU Ke Yuan and LIN Xiang Yi Eliminated in the Quarterfinals in Macau
In men’s doubles, Hu KE YUAN and Lin XIANG YI competed in only one tournament in June: the Macau Open. The winners of the Orléans Masters Badminton were eager to build on their strong start to the season on the international circuit.
The Chinese pair got off to a perfect start in the tournament by upsetting the Thai duo Kittinupong KEDREN and Lucas Ekarat WEDLER. After losing the first set, our champions raised their level of play to win in three sets, 17–21, 21–16, 21–13, and secure their spot in the quarterfinals.
Next, facing the Malaysians CHIA Weijie and TEO Ee Yi, the two players fought another hard-fought battle. Despite winning a nail-biting first set 25–23, they ultimately lost in three sets, 25–23, 16–21, 13–21, thus ending their run just short of the semifinals.

Miyu TAKAHASHI and Sumire NAKADE Continue Their Strong Run
In women’s doubles, Miyu TAKAHASHI and Sumire NAKADE continued their excellent run throughout the month of June. Having already claimed victory at the Orléans Masters Badminton last March, the Japanese pair secured another title by winning the 2026 YONEX US Open.
After a successful opening match against their Japanese compatriots Hinata SUZUKI and Nao YAMAKITA (No. 27), they delivered a strong performance in the quarterfinals by defeating the Taiwanese pair HSU Yin-Hui and LIN Jhih Yun (No. 12). Playing solidly until the very end, they then secured their spot in the final before defeating another Taiwanese pair, LIN Chih-Chun and YANG Chu Yun, in two sets, 21–16, 21–10.
The following week, the Orléans Masters champions were back on the courts for the YONEX Canada Open. This time, their run ended in the first round, as they were defeated in a hard-fought match by HSU Yin-Hui and LIN Jhih Yun 16–21, 22–20, 22–24, who thus avenged their loss from a week earlier in the United States.

After a June filled with outstanding performances, the winners of the 32nd Orléans Masters Badminton will now enjoy a few days of rest before returning to the world tour. The next event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, at the 2026 Daihatsu Japan Open (Super 750), where all the champions crowned in Orléans are expected to compete. This prestigious tournament promises, once again, thrilling matches at the highest international level.
