YONEX INTERNATIONAUX DE FRANCE DE BADMINTON : THE PARISIAN TOURNAMENT IS BACK !

The Yonex Internationaux de France de Badminton took place this year from 26 to 31 October 2021, after an unfortunately cancelled 2020 edition.

Today we look back at the performances of our various players of the Orléans Masters 2021, on the course of this majestic Parisian tournament!

Our tricolour men's singles player Brice LEVERDEZ, despite a good start in the first round, lost 21-16/17-21/21-19 to Chou Tien Chen, finalist in the men's singles of the YIFB 2021.

Thomas ROUXEL had the same experience, after his victory against Kantaphon Wangcharoen 2 sets to 1 (21-15/11-21/27-25). However, he did not qualify for the quarter finals, stopped by Lee Cheuk Yiu from Hong Kong who won in 2 sets (21-17/21-18).

On the women's singles side, the podium of the Orléans Masters 2021 is made up of equal performances.

Our bronze medalist of the Orléans Masters 2021, Pornpawee CHOCHUWONG qualifies for the quarters by winning 2 sets to 0 against the German, Yvonne Li. (21-10/21-5).

However, the Thai player, currently n°5 in the world, meets the Japanese Akane Yamaguchi (n°1 in the world) in the quarter finals. After two equal sets for both players (21-19/19-21), the last set is decisive, Akane Yamaguchi wins 21-16.

This will allow her to become the winner of the YonexIFB2021 women's singles.

Concerning our n°1 woman's singles OM2021, Busanan ONGBAMRUNGPHAN, loses in the quarter-finals against the Indian Pursarla V. Sindhu 2 sets to 0 (21-14/21-14).

Line CHRISTOPHERSEN, on the second step of the podium of the Orléans Masters 2021, does not qualify for the quarter finals and loses like B. ONGBAMRUNGPHAN against Pursarla V. Sindhu (21-19/21-9).

In men's doubles, we find our Frenchmen Christo POPOV & Toma Junior POPOV.

After their victory against the Danish pair LUNDGAARD/THYRRI, they stop at the doors of the quarters. The pair Fajar Alfian & Muhammad Rian Ardianto wins 2 sets to 0 against our two French brothers. (21-12/21-15).

Same scenario for our English champions, Ben Lane & Sean Vendy (who came first in the men's doubles at the Orléans Masters 2021). Defeat 21-12/21-17 against the Japanese pair HOKI/KOBAYASHI.

On the women's doubles side, the pair STOEVA/STOEVA (second ranked women's doubles at the Orléans Masters 2021) won against the Danish pair BOJE/POULSEN and qualified for the quarter finals. (25-23/23-21)

Unfortunately, they lose against the winning double lady pair of this Parisian tournament, the Koreans Lee Sohee & Shin Seungchan (n°1 double lady YonexIFB2021). (13-21/9-21)

Concerning our laureate pair of women's doubles of the 2021 edition of the Orléans Masters, Jongkolphan KITITHARAKUL & Rawinda PRAJONGJAI, they finish their accession in the quarter-finals against the Japanese duo Yuki Fukushima & Arisa Higashino. (21-16/21-19). After their victories against the Danish pair FINNE-IPSEN/SURROX (21-16/21-12) and the Canadian pair HONDERICH/TSAI (21-12/21-17).

In the mixed doubles category, our Danish pair Niclas Nohr & Amalie Magelund (n°2 in the mixed doubles ranking of the Orléans Masters 2021 21-11/21-13 against Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man & Tse Ying Suet) finished in the second round of this incredible tournament.

Same fate for the Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Ashwini Ponnappa (3rd in the Orléans Masters 2021 ranking with Drhuv Kapila) who lost by only 2 points in the last set to Praveen Jordan & Melati Daeva Oktaviani (15-21/21-17/21-19).

Very good performance for the n°1 mixed doubles of the Orléans Masters 2021.
