Yonex Internationaux France Badminton 2022

This year, the prestigious Parisien tournament was back and took place from 25th to 30th October by welcoming more than 371 international badminton players from all countries around the world.

During this tournament, we met some players who took part in our different editions of Orléans Masters Badminton and today we came back on their performances and their experiences.

 

◼Men's single : Rasmus GEMKE, winner of our Orleans Masters 2018's edition in this category, ends at the second place on the podium facing Viktor AXELSEN, world number 1 who wins his first trophy at YIFB in 2 sets 21-14/21-15. We find at the third and fourth place the Chinese LEE Cheuk Yiu and the Japanese NARAOKA Kodai.

◼Women's single : the Chinese HE Bing Jiao wins the YIFB 2022 in her category against the Spanish Carolina MARIN, by 2 sets to 1 (16-21/21-9/22-20). She goes to the second place in front of the Taiwanese TAI Tzu Ying and the Japanese YAMAGUCHI Akane. 

Regarding Busanan ONGBAMRUNGPHAN, winner of our Orléans Masters 2021's edition in her category, she unfortunately stops at semi-finale's doors facing the Chinese HE Bing Jiao with 2 sets to 1 (20-22/21-14/21-12).

◼Men's doubles : we notice the pair RANKIREDDY/SHETTY's performances in 2 sets winning (21-13/21-9) to go to the first place. 

Concerning Ben LANE and Sean VENDY, the two English winners of our 2021 edition, they have to content them with the third place on the podium of the YIFB 2022 with 2 sets (15-21/14-21) against the Chinese duo LU Ching Yao et YANG Po Han who came at the fourth place. 

◼Women's double : the Malaysian pair Pearly TAN/Thinaah MURALITHARAN wins this category by 2 sets to 1 (21-19/18-21/21-15) facing the Japanese couple Mayu MATSUMOTO/Wakana NAGAHARA.

◼Finally, as for Mixed Doubles, the Chinese duo ZHENG Si Wei/HUANG Ya Qiong raises the YIFB 2022 winner's trophy after an intense match against the Dutch pair TABELING/PIEK leading to a victory by 2 sets to 1(17-21/21-13/21-12).

Our French mixed doubles, Thom GICQUEL et Delphine DELRUE, winning pair of our 2019 edition, stops at quarter final against the Indonesian duo KUSHARJANTO and KUSUMAWATI.

 

Thus, it was this week that occured the YIFB 2022 where some players that we received during different editions showed all their potential. Those who unfortunately stop in the course of this tournament could catch up with Hylo Open 2022 tournament which took place from 1st to 6th November 2022 in Germany, an international championship that we followed.
