Yonex SUNRISE India Open 2023

It's an end for this second badminton tournament of the year with the Yonex SUNRISE India Open 2023, which happened in New Delhi in India from last 17th to 22th January.

 

For this Super 750 tournament, international badminton players attempted to land the best place. But the most of them, who went to Orleans Masters, stopped themselves at the quarter-final doors :

STOEVA Bulgarian sisters, winners of our last edition Women's double category, do not access the semi-final of this championship. They were facing the Korean duo JEONG/KIM, losing by 2 sets (14-21/8-21).

Our French duo GICQUEL/DELRUE, Mixed double winner of our 2022 edition, did not get through facing the Chinese ZHENG/HUANG who won this match by 2 sets to 1 (14-21/21-15/21-12).

Finally, the German players LAMSFUSS/SEIDEL, Men's double winner of our 2018 edition, bowed against Indonesian ALFIAN/ARDIANTO by 2 equal sets (21-13/21-13).

 

Tournament's podium : 

◾Men's single : Thai player VITIDSARN wins this championship in his category against Danish AXELSEN, by 2 winners sets quite impressive for the first one (22-20/10-21/21-12).

◾ Women's single : Korean AN Se Young was against the Japanese YAMAGUCHI and wins by 2 sets to 1 (15-21/21-16/21-12).

◾ Men's double : Victory from Chinese LIANG/CHANG against the Malaysian CHIA/SOH, with also 2 sets by 1 (14-21/21-19/21-18).

◾ Women's double : Japanese players MASTUYAMA/SHIDA achieve a victory from their category with the withdrawn of the Chinese duo CHEN/JIA

◾ To conclude with Mixed double : the Japanese WANATABE/HIGASHINO played against the Chinese WANG/HUANG and also won by a withdrawn from the Chinese opponent.
