From July 25 to 30, the DAIHATSU Japan Open 2023 took place in Tokyo, in the Kanto region on Japan's main island.

Let's take a look back at this super750 tournament, where we meet up with some of the players who have taken part in the Orléans Masters Badminton!

Quarter-finals:

Men’s singles :

The famous Dane AXELSEN, currently world no. 1, defeated the Indian PRANNOY H. S. in 2 sets to 1: 19-21/21-18/21-8.

Japan's Kodai NARAOKA enters the quarter-finals against China's SHI Yu Qi following the withdrawal of Anders ANTONSEN, winner of the previous Open (Korea). The Japanese reached the semi-finals in 2 sets to 1 against the Chinese, currently world n°5: 11-21/21-19/21-14.

Unfortunately, it was the end of the road for the young Thai bronze medalist at the Orléans Masters Badminton 2021. Kunlavut VITIDSARN lost 0 set to 2 to Indonesian Jonatan CHRISTIE: 21-16/21-16.

India's Lakshya SEN, gold medalist at the 2023 Canada Open, progressed to the finals by winning his duel with Japan's Koki WATANABE in 2 sets; 21-15/21-19.

Women’s singles :

The favorite, current world n°1 Akane YAMAGUCHI, won't make it past the quarters... Victory for Indonesian Gregoria Mariska TINJUNG: 21-11/11-21/21-18.

The current Chinese world no. 5 and winner of the 2022 French internationals won 2 sets to 0 against the USA's Beiwen Zhang: 21-13/21-18.

TAI Tzu Ying, the Taiwanese who finished second on the Korean Open podium, reached the semi-finals in 2 sets against the Chinese HAN Yue: 21-12/21-19.

AN Se Young, the 21-year-old Korean, propelled herself into the semi-finals with a 2-set win over Thailand's Ratchanok INTANON: 21-19/21-10. Heading for a 4th consecutive title for the Korean?

Men’s Doubles :

The world's No.1 Indonesian pair dominated in 2 sets against their colleagues Mohammad ASHAN and Hendra SETIAWAN. Victory for Fajar ALFIAN and Muhammad Rien ARDIANTO 21-9/21-13.

After 1h10 of effort, the fastest smash in the world was not enough, and the Indian pair RANKIREDDY / SHETTY lost 1 set to 2 to the Taiwanese winners of the 2019 edition of the OMB, LEE Yang and Wang Chi-Lin: 15-21/25-23/16-21.

Takiro HOKI and Yugo KOBAYASHI, winners of the Singapore Open 2023, beat Malaysians Aaron CHIA and SOH Wooi Yik 2-1: 10-21/21-15/21-16.

After 119 points played in 3 sets, the Chinese pair LIU Yu Chen and OU Xuan YI (BWF World Tour finals 2022 winning pair) defeated the Japanese Akira KOGA and Taichi SAITO in the 3rd set: 20-22/22-20/21-14.

Women’s Doubles :

The world No. 1 pair CHEN Qing Chen and JIA Yi Fan easily beat Japan's MATSUYAMA / SHIDA: 21-19/21-12.

The Orléans Masters Badminton 2021 winners Jongkolphan KITITHARAKUL and Rawinda PRAJONGJAI lost 0 sets to 2 to Japan's FUKUSHIMA / HIROTA: 15-21/13-21.

The world's No.3 Korean pair, KIM So Yeong and KONG Hee Yong, reach the semi-finals against Indonesia's KUSUMA / PRATIWI: 21-15/21-16.

The current Japanese pair MATSUMOTO / NAGAHARA, world n°4, wins in 2 sets against the Korean pair world n°2 (21-12/21-13)!

Mixed Doubles :

Direct access to the semi-finals for the Chinese pair ZHENG Si Wei and HUANG Ya Qiong following the withdrawal of the Taiwanese pair who finished second on the podium at the Orléans Masters Badminton presented by Victor 2023: YE Hong Wei and LEE Chia Hsin.

Japan's WATANABE / HIGASHINO will meet the Chinese pair in the semi-finals following their 2-set win over Thailand's JOMKOH and PAEWSAMPRAN: 21-18/21-8.

The Chinese pair FENG Yan Zhe and HUANG Dong Ping, winners of the previous Korean Open, triumphed in 2 sets over the Koreans KO Sung Hyun and EOM Hye Won: 21-8/21-17.

AN Se Young at home flew into the final after an intense 1h18 and a very tight 3rd set against the Chinese CHEN Yu Fei, Korean victory 15-21/21-8/24-22.

Men’s Doubles:

It was the end of the road for the Korean pair KANG Min Hyuk and SEO Seung Jar, who lost 1 set to 2 to the Indonesians ALFIAN / ARDIANTO: 21-17/16-21/18-21.

India's RANKIREDDY / SHETTY won in 2 sets against China's LIANG Wei Keng and WANG Chang: 21-15/24-22.

Women’s Doubles :

The Chinese pair CHEN Qing Chen advance to the final 2 sets to 0 against their colleagues ZHANG Shu Xian and ZHENG Yu: 21-12/21-12.

Korea's KIM So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong win on home soil to reach the final! 2-1 victory over Japan's MATSUMOTO/NAGAHARA: 21-16/19-21/21-12.

Mixed Doubles :

The Chinese pair JIANG Zhen Bang / WEI Ya Xin surprised everyone and reached the final after 55 minutes of play, winning 21-12/20-22/21-12 against the Japanese WATANABE/ HIGOSHINO.

A 100% Chinese final on Korean soil, as the Thai pair PUAVARANUKROH / TAERATTANACHAI lost 0 set to 2 to the Chinese FENG Yan Zhe and HUANG Dong Ping: 18-21/14-21..

Finals :

Men’s singles:

Denmark's Anders ANTONSEN, who came through the OMB this year, takes his first place at the top of the podium of a BWF World Tour 2023 tournament after finishing second at the Singapore Open, a fine revenge for the Dane who wins 2 sets to 1 against Singaporean LOH Kean Yew: 11-21/21-11/21-19..

Women’s singles:

After crossing the East China Sea, it was second place for Taiwan's TAI Tzu Ying, who lost 0 sets to 2 to Korea's AN Se Young, who took the top step of the podium for the second time on home soil after her first victory in Korea at the 2019 Gwangju Korea Masters (21-9/21-15).

Men’s Doubles:
