The double winner of the two Thailand Open, V. Axelsen won his semi-final against Taiwanese CHOU Tien Chen, third in the Yonex Thailand Open. A game without too much problem for the Danish winner in straight sets 10/21 21/14. Unfortunately, the scenario didn't repeat itself for Carolina Marin. In fact, the Spanish player lost in three sets to Korea's AN Se Young, an opponent she won in straight sets at the Yonex Thailand Open.

Lee Yang and WANG Chi-Lin won their semi-final beating Britain's Ellis/Langridge 21/17 21/13.
